Sarkar Raj (transl. Government rule) is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language political crime thriller film directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The film is a sequel to the 2005 film Sarkar and the second installment of the Sarkar film series.

Sarkar is a series of Indian political crime thriller films set in the world of Marathi politics and crime, co-produced and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The first part Sarkar released in 2005, the second part Sarkar Raj in 2008, and the third installment Sarkar 3 in 2017.

Kantilal Vohra, a Gujrati politician, tries to bribe Sarkar to bring the Thakurwadi project to Gujarat, but Sarkar rebuffs him. Kantilal joins hands with Hasan & Kaanga. Avantika (Tanisha Mukherjee) is Shankar's wife & gets pregnant with his child.
Sarkar Raj is the sequel to the 2005 movie Sarkar by Ram Gopal Varma, which is said to be the Indian equivalent of The Godfather starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role where a gangster gets elected to political power.
