La Fin de la Nuit plot. Twenty years have passed. Thérèse Desqueyroux lives in Paris, sick, destitute and lonely. Just when she wants nothing more from life and quietly waits for its end, one day her daughter Marie shows up at the door. Marie, who is now twenty, wants to escape her oppressive civilian life and marry the handsome Mourad.
