Mail investigators Tom and Doris follow a trail of a mail heist from the East Coast to Los Angeles. They do this with the help of a letter sent by General Delivery to a certain 'Jane Turner'. When the letter, containing a lot of money, is collected by a woman also named Jane Turner, both the police and the robbers are hot on her heels.
Their case involves locating a woman who goes under the pseudonym of Jane Turner, the alleged recipient of fraudulent mail who is used to pass it on to the criminals.
