The Crusade is the sixth serial of the second season in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Written by David Whitaker and directed by Douglas Camfield, the serial was broadcast on BBC1 in four weekly parts from 27 March to 17 April 1965.
The Crusade was the sixth serial of season 2 of Doctor Who. It was the last story that Whitaker wrote for Hartnell and the first story to be directed by Douglas Camfield in its entirety.

In 12th century Palestine, the Doctor and his friends are drawn into the holy war between the forces of King Richard the Lionheart and the Saracen ruler Saladin.
As the Doctor, Vicki, Ian and Barbara explore their surroundings, they are suddenly caught up in a Saracen ambush — and Barbara is kidnapped. For the time travellers, intrigue and espionage ensue as they once again become involved in living history.
The TARDIS lands in 12th century Palestine, slap bang in the middle of England, France and Germany having a third crack at conquering the Holy Lands and taking it from the hands of the locals.
