The Judge Steps Out is a 1948 American comedy film directed by Boris Ingster and written by Ingster and Alexander Knox. The film stars Knox and Ann Sothern, along with George Tobias, Sharyn Moffett, Florence Bates, Frieda Inescort and Myrna Dell.
Alexander Knox plays a judge so fed up with his life and the pressures on him that he disappears in "The Judge Steps Out," an absolutely wonderful film from 1949 that fell victim to the Hayes Code. Knox is Judge Thomas Bailey, a judge living in Boston with his family.
