Later, Toho registered the film on August 3rd, 1987 under the number PA0000355145. Toho's submission was registered with its international title, Key of Keys, and the movie's Romaji title, Kokusai Himitsu Keisatsu: Kagi no Kagi. In Tokyo, Toho showed the film to Henry G. Saperstein with hopes that he would purchase overseas distribution rights.
