Just as Martin’s journey shifts into living outward, Hagge’s physical appearance declines, her layers of clothing literally fall from her weakened frame, until she is but a shadow of her former self. Until the bitter end, she stumbles, desperately clamouring for another victim to inhabit to sustain her life.
