5 gen 2024 · 5 Fingers (1952) is an espionage noir thriller drama directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and produced by Otto Lang. The screenplay written by Michael Wilson was based on the 1950 book Operation Cicero (original German: Der Fall Cicero) by Ludwig Carl Moyzisch, Nazi commercial attaché at the German embassy in Ankara, Turkey (1943–44).
Scoring the 1952 espionage classic Five Fingers gave Bernard Herrmann a chance to mix his ability to generate suspense (which would come to the fore when he first joined forces with Alfred Hitchcock in 1955) with his skill as a researcher.
I went to a screening of this Korean film in Los Angeles and enjoyed it thoroughly. 70's kung fu film star James Nam is likeable and suave as are the other 'business men' in the film. The interesting touch is the three friends/brothers who have their own secondary plot Jamisin, Oz, and A.J. have great chemistry and good fighting skills which I wish we could have seen more of.
