My Mother Frank is a 2000 Australian film. Plot. David Kennedy ( Matthew Newton) is preparing to go to university. His mother, Frank ( Sinéad Cusack) is a widow and has very little social life. David tells her that she should get out more and much to his surprise, Frank enrolls at the same university.

My Mother Frank. Fifty one year old widow Francis "Frank" Kennedy (Sinead Cusack) leads a boring life dominated by devout Roman Catholicism and an over-protective attitude to her university student son David (Matthew Newton).
When a meddlesome mother enrolls in university with her son, old and new worlds collide. As the dust settles, Frank (Frances Regina Aileen Nano Kennedy) finds herself, David finds love and those around them find their lives changed forever.
When Frank decides to take art courses at the same university that her son attends, David is unenthusiastic. Moreover, so is her crusty professor Mortlock (Sam Neil), who believes that older students take places from younger ones. This film was screened at the 2000 Berlin Film Festival.
