27 mag 2021 · By NASRULLAH MAMBROL on May 27, 2021. “The Jilting of Granny Weatherall” was the first of Katherine Anne Porter’s Texas stories, all drawn from persistent memories of her own impoverished and motherless childhood as well as from her memories of her sternly rigorous and religious grandmother, Catherine Anne Porter of Kyle, Texas.
It was published in 1930 as part of Porter's short story collection Flowering Judas, and Other Stories. [1] It is a stream-of-consciousness narrative detailing the thoughts of a woman attempting to tie up loose ends as she lies on her deathbed. [2]
