Sunny would do anything to get out of Purgatory Flats. Anything to be free of her abusive husband and his lecherous family. Anything it seems, even murder. When a mysterious man drifts into town looking for a job, she figures she can put him to work. But he may be more than she bargained for.
The story is about Thomas Reed, one day he is Driving drunk and causes a car accident that injures his wife, and is imprisoned for 5 years. However, he feels like punishing himself afterward by moving to the small Californian town of Purgatory Flats, where he works as a humble waiter.
