Githead is a musical collaboration that includes Wire's Colin Newman as well as electronic musician Robin Rimbaud alongside Minimal Compact members Malka Spigel and Max Franken.
Githead is a band that has developed incrementally and organically: from the Krautrock-infused roots of its 2004 debut EP, Headgit, through an expansion in style and mood on the first album, Profile (2005), to the self-descriptive Art Pop (2007) -- critically regarded as the band's zenith.
Githead are a hipper than thou super group comprising Robin Rimbaud from Scanner, Colin Newman from Wire and Malka Spigel from Minimal Compact. What sounds quite serious on paper translates to accessible but unusual music.
Githead are Colin Newman (of Wire), Malka Spigel and Max Franken (of Minimal Compact), and Robin Rimbaud (Scanner). But who they are is far less important than what they are: a band, rather than just a collaboration between individuals, each with their own highly regarded creative résumé.

The HEAD in Git is the pointer to the current branch reference, which is in turn a pointer to the last commit you made or the last commit that was checked out into your working directory. That also means it will be the parent of the next commit you do.
