Earl Donald Young (born June 2, 1940) is a Philadelphia-based drummer who rose to prominence in the early 1970s as part of the Philly Soul sound. Young is best known as the founder and leader of The Trammps who had a hit record with "Disco Inferno".

Earl Young here. I am the drummer for “The Sound of Philadelphia.” Some of you may not know who I am because I seldom did live gigs as a drummer. All my years playing drums were spent in the recording studio at Sigma Sound Studios in Philly.
