Real Name: Charles James Hunt. Profile: US Soul singer Born on the 18th June 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He was a member of The Flamingos until 1960 when he started his solo career in New York. He had a string of releases throughout the 60s and was a regular at the famous Apollo.
The Flamingos received the Rhythm & Blues Foundation Pioneer Award in 1996 (where Terry Johnson, Jake Carey, Zeke Carey, Tommy Hunt and Johnny Carter performed) and were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Doo-Wop Hall of Fame in 2004.
