28 mag 2024 · Nelson Riddle was an American popular-music arranger, conductor, and composer, regarded as the premier 20th-century arranger for popular singers. Riddle began his career in the 1940s as a trombonist-arranger for the orchestras of Tommy Dorsey, Bob Crosby, Charlie Spivak, and Jerry Wald.
4 giu 2021 · Nelson Riddle died on 6 October 1985, aged 64, in Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles. He was far and away the most well-known arranger in the jazz/pop fields, easily eclipsing the likes of Jerry Gray, Sy Oliver and his early mentor, Bill Finnegan.
