Fred Brathwaite (born August 31, 1959), more popularly known as Fab 5 Freddy, is an American visual artist, filmmaker, and hip hop pioneer. He is considered one of the architects of the street art movement. Freddy emerged in New York's downtown underground creative scene in the late 1970s as a graffiti artist.

Fred Brathwaite, aka FAB 5 FREDDY, is a visual artist, filmmaker and hip-hop pioneer. As a fan of Pirate Movies, his artwork sheds light on the untold story of African descendants who were captains of their own ships and freed countless people from slavery. They too became pirates and joined in the fight for freedom.
Directed by Fab 5 Freddy, the clip was mostly shot in the heart of Harlem. Preemo shows his family ties to the streets through the gift of diamonds. The video flips back to vintage shots of Guru, as his 19-year-old son, Keith Casim, is also shown throughout as an integral part of bringing the visual to life.
