Tord Gustavsen (born 5 October 1970) is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer. He tours extensively worldwide, and he has been a bandleader for a trio, ensemble and quartet at various times, all bearing his name.
Tord playing with Eivind Aarset, Trygve Seim, and others – and also curating the festival; which includes performances by the Estonian choir Vox Clamantis, Indian pianist Utsav Lal, Norwegian pianist Ingfrid Breie Nyhus, actress Juni Dahr, and others.
Tord Gustavsen was born in Oslo in 1970 and grew up in the Norwegian countryside. He began playing the piano aged 4, and was composing and improvising before he learned to read music and perform classical pieces.
BIOGRAPHY – Tord Gustavsen. Pianist Tord Gustavsen has released nine albums on ECM Records with his ensemble and trio; «Changing Places» (2003), «The Ground» (2005), «Being There» (2007), «Restored, Returned» (2009/2010), «The Well» (2012); «Extended Circle» (2014); «What was said» (2016); «The Other Side» (2018); and «Opening» (2022).
