Kendra Smith (born March 14, 1960) is an American musician who was a founding member of The Dream Syndicate, a member of Opal, and later recorded as a solo artist.

Dopo una breve permanenza nei Suspects fondò nel 1981 con Steve Wynn i Dream Syndicate dove suonava il basso e con cui pubblicò un EP e l'album d'esordio, l'epocale The Days of Wine and Roses. 9 ago 2020 · If you’ve never heard of Kendra Smith no one would be surprised, but listening to her enduring music from decades ago, you cannot help but to feel the reverence in Kendra’s lyrics, be captivated by her haunting melodies and lulled by soothing drowsy tempos.
The album was surprisingly fresh (the addition of former Green on Red keyboardist Chris Cacavas provided lush textures previously unknown in their guitar-based music) and more surprising was a vocal cameo from co-founding member, the long-lost chanteuse Kendra Smith.
