Charles Alfred Cripps, 1st Baron Parmoor, KCVO, PC, KC (3 October 1852 – 30 June 1941) was a British politician who crossed the floor from the Conservative to the Labour Party and was a strong supporter of the League of Nations and of Church of England causes.
Baron Parmoor, of Frieth in the County of Buckingham, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. [1] It was created on 16 January 1914 for the lawyer and politician Sir Charles Cripps. He and his second wife, Marian Ellis, were anti-war activists.
Our father, Charles Alfred Cripps, the third son, was born there in 1852. Thence, in 1854, they moved to Ipsden House near Wallingford, where they stayed until they purchased Parmoor in 1860.
