Uomo politico bulgaro, nato a Tărnovo il 31 gennaio 1854, assassinato a Sofia il 18 luglio 1895. Studiò in un seminario teologico a Odessa. Nel 1875 partecipò a una sommossa contro i Turchi, ma l'insuccesso lo costrinse a riparare a Bucarest.
Uomo politico bulgaro (Tarnovo 1854 - Sofia 1895); capo del partito nazionale-liberale, divenne (1884) presidente della camera e ministro. Nel colpo di stato del 1886 costituì una reggenza, che favorì (1887) l'elezione di Ferdinando di Coburgo, il quale nominò S. presidente del Consiglio.
