Alured Clarke (24 novembre 1744 – Llangollen, 16 settembre 1832) è stato un militare e politico britannico. Fu governatore generale dell'India dal 1797 al 1798. In precedenza era stato Governatore della Giamaica dal 1784 al 1790.
Sir Alured Clarke GCB (24 November 1744 – 16 September 1832) was a British Army officer. He took charge of all British troops in Georgia in May 1780 and was then deployed to Philadelphia to supervise the evacuation of British prisoners of war at the closing stages of the American Revolutionary War.
16 ago 2020 · The Reverend Alured Clarke D.D. was a prebendary (clergyman) at Westminster Abbey from 1731-1742. He was born in 1696 a son of Alured, of Godmanchester, and his wife Ann (Trimnell). His brother Charles was later a baron of the Exchequer.
Alured Clarke obtained an ensigncy in the 50th Foot in 1759 and six years later became a captain in the 5th Foot. After being made major in the 54th Foot in 1771, he was promoted lieutenant-colonel in 1775.

Alured Clarke's first military service was in Germany under the Marquess of Granby. As a lieutenant-colonel in the Royal Fusiliers he served in the American War of Independence. He was in command at Charleston and Savannah.
