Marie Joseph Louis Adolphe Thiers (/ t i ˈ ɛər / tee-AIR, French: [maʁi ʒɔzɛf lwi adɔlf tjɛʁ]; 15 April 1797 – 3 September 1877) was a French statesman and historian. He was the second elected President of France and first President of the Third Republic.

Adolphe Marie Joseph Louis Thiers nasce a Marsiglia il 15 aprile 1797. Ultimati gli studi in legge ed animato da grande passione per la storia e per la politica, nel 1821 approda a Parigi dove comincia a lavorare come giornalista politico di orientamento liberale.
Président du conseil et ministre des Affaires étrangères. En désaccord avec Louis-Philippe au sujet de la politique orientale (affaire Méhémet Ali, pacha d'Égypte), il démissionne et passe dans l'opposition à Guizot. 1845-1862. Il fait paraître son Histoire du Consulat et de l'Empire. Février 1848. Chute du régime de Louis-Philippe.
Adolphe Marie Joseph Louis Thiers was born in Marseille. After completing his studies at a secondary school in Marseille and then a university in Aix-en-Provence, where he obtained a degree in Law, he became a lawyer. 1821. He moved to Paris where he tried his hand at journalism in the columns of the newspaper, Le Constitutionnel. 1823.
