Karl Philipp, Fürst zu Schwarzenberg (or Charles Philip, Prince of Schwarzenberg; 18/19 April 1771 – 15 October 1820) was an Austrian Generalissimo and former Field Marshal. He first entered military service in 1788 and fought against the Turks.
Karl Philipp Johann Nepomuk Joseph zu Schwarzenberg, auch Carl Philipp zu Schwarzenberg, war ein österreichischer Feldmarschall sowie Botschafter in Sankt Petersburg und Paris. Der Fürst von Schwarzenberg war der Oberbefehlshaber der verbündeten Streitkräfte gegen Napoleon in der Völkerschlacht bei Leipzig 1813.
12 nov 2023 · Karl von Schwarzenberg, discendente di uno dei più antichi casati nobiliari dell’impero asburgico, è deceduto ieri all’età di 85 anni in un ospedale di Vienna, dov’era ricoverato da una settimana. La morte è sopravvenuta dopo due giorni di coma. Gli erano accanto la moglie Therese e i figli.
Karl Philipp, prince zu Schwarzenberg was an Austrian field marshal and diplomat who was one of the most successful Allied commanders in the Napoleonic Wars and who contributed significantly to the French emperor’s defeat in 1813–14.
