SOGYAL RINPOCHE, nato nel Tibet orientale verso la fine degli anni '40, nella provincia del Kham, ha trascorso l'infanzia e l'adolescenza sotto la guida di Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö (1893-1959), ed è stato riconosciuto quale incarnazione di Lerab Lingpa Tertön Sogyal, un grande yogin nonché uno dei maestri del XIII Dalai Lama.
Sogyal Rinpoche dedicated his life to establishing the Buddhist path in the West, and especially the study and practice of Dzogchen, the Great Perfection. He taught for over forty-five years and founded the international network of Buddhist centres and groups to which he gave the name Rigpa.
