Giovanni Federico di Brunswick-Lüneburg (Herzberg am Harz, 25 aprile 1625 – Augusta, 18 dicembre 1679) fu duca di Brunswick-Lüneburg. Governò su Calenberg, dalla suddivisione del ducato, dal 1665 fino alla sua morte. Fu antenato comune di Luigi XVI di Francia e di Ferdinando I delle Due Sicilie
Cedette i suoi beni allodiali, il castello di Lüneburg con i suoi annessi, all'imperatore che li restituì all'Impero riunendoli a Brunswick, anch'essa riconsegnata all'Impero. In tal modo Federico, dietro consiglio e con il beneplacito dei principi imperiali, creò un nuovo ducato, che assegnò ai Guelfi come feudo imperiale.
