John Dear (born August 13, 1959) is an American Catholic priest, peace activist, lecturer, and author of 40 books on peace and nonviolence.
Rev. John Dear is one of the most well-known teachers and voices for peace and nonviolence in the world. In 2008, Archbishop Desmond Tutu nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize saying, “John Dear is the embodiment of a peacemaker. He has led by example through his actions and in his writings and in numerous sermons, speeches and demonstrations.
Fr. John Dear is an internationally known author, activist and teacher of peace and nonviolence. He has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Senator Barbara Mikulski, and several others.
