Edward Bruce (1280 circa – Faughart, 14 ottobre 1318) fu il fratello minore di Roberto I di Scozia che supportò durante la sua lotta per l'ascesa al trono di Scozia e quindi reclamò per sé la corona di Irlanda divenendo re supremo d'Irlanda dal 1315 fino alla sua morte.

The Scot Edward Bruce landed near the present town site in 1315 when he attempted to free Ireland from English rule. His death three years later ended all hopes of an independent Scots-Irish kingdom. Larne town developed as a holiday resort after 1900.
