Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler (25 March 1844 – 10 October 1930) was a German botanist. He is notable for his work on plant taxonomy and phytogeography, such as Die natürlichen Pflanzenfamilien (The Natural Plant Families), edited with Karl A. E. von Prantl.
Adolf Engler (born March 25, 1844, Sagan, Prussia [now Żagań, Pol.]—died Oct. 10, 1930, Berlin, Ger.) was a German botanist famous for his system of plant classification and for his expertise as a plant geographer. Engler obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Breslau (now Wrocław) in 1866.
