Jakob Bernoulli, noto anche come Jacques Bernoulli o Giacomo Bernoulli (Basilea, 27 dicembre 1654 – Basilea, 16 agosto 1705), è stato un matematico e scienziato svizzero. Era il fratello maggiore di Johann Bernoulli e lo zio di Daniel Bernoulli .

Jakob Bernoulli, o Jakob, meglio conosciuto come Jakob II Bernoulli (Basilea, 17 ottobre 1759 – San Pietroburgo, 3 luglio 1789), è stato un matematico svizzero, appartenente alla famosa famiglia Bernoulli.
Jacob Bernoulli was a Swiss mathematician who was the first to use the term integral. He studied the catenary, the curve of a suspended string. He was an early user of polar coordinates and discovered the isochrone.
Jacob Bernoulli tornò in Svizzera e insegnò meccanica all' Università di Basilea dal 1683, tenendo una serie di importanti lezioni sulla meccanica dei solidi e dei liquidi. Bernoulli studiò i lavori di Cartesio, Wallis e Barrow e attraverso questi divennne interessato alla geometria infinitesimale. Cominciò a pubblicare i suoi lavori nel 1682.
