Marshall Warren Nirenberg (New York City, 10 aprile 1927 – New York, 15 gennaio 2010) è stato un biochimico statunitense. È noto per aver svelato il codice genetico e per averne interpretato il ruolo nella sintesi proteica.
Marshall Warren Nirenberg (April 10, 1927 – January 15, 2010) was an American biochemist and geneticist. He shared a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1968 with Har Gobind Khorana and Robert W. Holley for "breaking the genetic code " and describing how it operates in protein synthesis .

Biographical. Marshall Warren Nirenberg was born in New York City on April 10th, 1927, the son of Harry and Minerva Nirenberg. The family moved to Orlando, Florida in 1939. He early developed an interest in biology. In 1948 he received a B. Sc. degree, and in 1952, a M. Sc. degree in Zoology from the University of Florida at Gainesville.
