Sir Angus Stewart Deaton FBA [1] (born 19 October 1945) is a British-American economist and academic. Deaton is currently a Senior Scholar and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor of Economics and International Affairs Emeritus at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and the Economics Department at Princeton University.

Website. Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Angus Deaton was born in Edinburgh, educated at Hawick High School (at the same time as 2017 chemistry Nobel Laureate Richard Henderson), at Fettes, and at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where he was an Exhibitioner in Mathematics.
I was born in Edinburgh, in Scotland, a few days after the end of the Second World War. Both my parents had left school at a very young age, unwillingly in my father’s case. Yet both had deep effects on my education, my father influencing me toward measurement and mathematics, and my mother toward writing and history.
