Robert Silverberg (born January 15, 1935) is an American author and editor, best known for writing science fiction. He is a multiple winner of both Hugo and Nebula Awards, a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, and a Grand Master of SF. [2] [3] [4] He has attended every Hugo Award ceremony since the inaugural event in 1953. [5]
Robert Silverberg has been a professional writer since 1955, widely known for his science fiction and fantasy stories. He is a many-time winner of the Hugo and Nebula awards, was named to the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 1999, and in 2004 was designated as a Grand Master by the Science Fiction Writers of America.
Robert Silverberg is one of science fiction’s most beloved writers, and the author of such contemporary classics as Dying Inside, Downward to the Earth and Lord Valentine’s Castle, as well as At Winter’s End, also available in a Bison Books edition.

Robert Silverberg è nato a New York nel 1935 e vive a San Francisco. È considerato, insieme a Philip K. Dick e a J.C. Ballard, uno degli scrittori che meglio sa creare utopie visionarie per raccontare il nostro presente. Nel 1956 si laurea alla Columbia University con una tesi in letteratura comparata e si sposa con Barbara Brown.
