Women of the House is an American sitcom television series and a spin-off of Designing Women that aired on CBS from January 4 to August 18, 1995, and the last four episodes airing on Lifetime on September 8, 1995.

Women of the House is an American situation comedy television series. It is a spin-off of Designing Women and stars Delta Burke, who had reconciled with producers after a bitter, highly publicized, off-screen battle.
After the death of her Congressman husband, Ray, Suzanne Sugarbaker moved to Washington to fill his seat in The House of Representatives as favor for the governor. On the way, Suzanne drags her mentally retarded brother, Jim; adopted daughter, Desiree; and her maid Sapphire Jones along for the ride.
When the ladies gather to monitor violence against women on TV for a Congressional hearing, a dieting Suzanne becomes increasingly annoyed by everyone's jabbering, and a tasteless joke leads Natty to report Sissy to the F.B.I.
