With a student body of more than 3000, the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien (MDW) is one of the largest arts universities in the world. The University consists of 24 departments including the Max Reinhardt Seminar, Vienna Film Academy and the Wiener Klangstil.
Die Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (mdw) ist eine österreichische Universität mit Sitz im III. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Landstraße, Anton-von-Webern-Platz 1. Sie ist nach eigenen Angaben die größte Kunstuniversität Österreichs und die größte Musikuniversität weltweit.

Essa è stata promossa dalla Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde meglio conosciuta come "Società degli amici della musica".
The mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna is one of the world‘s largest, oldest, and best known universities in the performing arts of music, theatre and film. A charity concert given by noble society ladies in 1812 led to the foundation of a "Society of the Friends of Music" with the goal of promoting music in society.
