Gerardo Murillo Cornado ( Guadalajara, 3 ottobre 1875 – Città del Messico, 15 agosto 1964) è stato un pittore e scrittore messicano . Si firmava con la sigla "Dr. Atl". Studiò pittura da giovane e all'età di 21 anni entrò nella National School of Fine Arts di Città del Messico .
Gerardo Murillo Coronado, also known by his signature "Dr. Atl" (October 3, 1875 – August 15, 1964), was a Mexican painter and writer. He was actively involved in the Mexican Revolution in the Constitutionalist faction led by Venustiano Carranza .
Gerardo Murillo, meglio conosciuto come Dr. Atl, è stato uno dei pittori muralisti più importanti del Messico. Nato a Guadalajara nel 1875, Murillo iniziò a studiare pittura all’età di 12 anni, e in seguito si trasferì a Città del Messico, dove lavorò come apprendista di Diego Rivera.
Doctor Atl was a painter and writer who was one of the pioneers of the Mexican movement for artistic nationalism. Educated in Mexico City, Rome, and Peru, he founded the journal Action d’Art in Paris in 1913 and edited it for three years.
