Philipp Veit (13 February 1793 – 18 December 1877) was a German Romantic painter and one of the main exponents of the Nazarene movement. It is to Veit that the credit of having been the first to revive the nearly forgotten technique of fresco painting is due.

VEIT, Philipp. Pittore, nato il 13 febbraio 1793 a Berlino, morto il 18 dicembre 1877 a Magonza. Dopo aver studiato a Dresda e a Vienna, si recò nel 1815 a Roma, dove seguì i Nazzareni, prendendo parte alla decorazione ad affresco della casa Bartholdy (palazzo Zuccari; oggi a Berlino) e della villa Massimi.
