17 ott 2020 · Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres morì a Parigi il 14 gennaio 1867 all’età di 86 anni. La causa della morte fu una polmonite. La sua salma fu inumata nel cimitero del Père-Lachaise. Jean-Marie Bonnassieux allievo di Ingres progetto il sepolcro del maestro.
