Emily Kame Kngwarreye (also spelt Emily Kam Kngwarray) (1910 – 3 September 1996) was an Aboriginal Australian artist from the Utopia community in the Northern Territory. After only starting painting as a septuagenarian, Kngwarreye became one of the most prominent and successful artists in the history of Indigenous Australian art.
Emily Kame Kngwarreye is one of Australia's most significant contemporary artists. Emily was born at the beginning of the 20th century and grew up in a remote desert area known as Utopia, 230 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs, distant from the art world that sought her work.

Utopia: The Genius of Emily Kame Kngwarreye told the story of Emily, one of Australia’s greatest contemporary artists. The exhibition also gave insight into her life as a senior Anmatyerre woman and a lifelong custodian of the desert country that inspired her work.
