Biografia. Eugène Boudin nacque da una famiglia di umili origini e nel 1835 si trasferì a Le Havre, dove lavorò come apprendista presso una tipografia, riuscendo poi ad aprire un negozio di colori e a dedicarsi alla pittura.

Eugène Louis Boudin (French: [øʒɛn lwi budɛ̃]; 12 July 1824 – 8 August 1898) was one of the first French landscape painters to paint outdoors. Boudin was a marine painter, and expert in the rendering of all that goes upon the sea and along its shores.
Louis-Eugène Boudin est un peintre français né à Honfleur le 12 juillet 1824 et mort à Deauville (Calvados) le 8 août 1898. Il est l'un des premiers peintres français du XIX e siècle à peindre les paysages à l'extérieur d'un atelier.

1 giorno fa · Eugène Boudin Boudin is most famous for his scenes of well-to-do holidaymakers on the beaches of the fashionable Normandy resorts of Trouville and Deauville. But from the late 1860s he began to turn his attention to the daily life of the inhabitants of the northern French coast.
Eugène Boudin was one of the first French landscape painters to paint in the open air, directly from nature. His many beach scenes directly link the carefully observed naturalism of the early 19th century and the brilliant light and fluid brushwork of late 19th-century Impressionism.
