His churches, palaces, grand houses, interiors, city gates and theatres in Silesia (now Poland ), Berlin , Potsdam and elsewhere belong to the earliest examples of Neoclassical architecture in Germany.
Carl Gotthard Langhans (* 15. Dezember 1732 in Landeshut, Schlesien; † 1. Oktober 1808 in Grüneiche bei Breslau) war ein Architekt in Preußen. Seine Werke gehören zu den frühesten Bauten des Klassizismus in Deutschland. Sein bedeutendstes Werk ist das Brandenburger Tor in Berlin .
