Il fumetto nato negli anni Cinquanta è il più longevo della storia americana. Altra striscia che lo ha reso famoso è Hi and Lois. Durante la sua carriera W. ha ricevuto diversi riconoscimenti e dal 1989 il suo nome fa parte del Museum of Cartoon Art Hall of Fame.
