Francis Beaumont (1584 – 6 marzo 1616) è stato un drammaturgo e poeta inglese. Francis Beaumont, (born c. 1585, Grace-Dieu, Leicestershire, Eng.—died March 6, 1616, London), British playwright. He is known chiefly for the 10 very popular plays on which he collaborated with John Fletcher (1579–1625) c. 1606–13. These included the tragicomedies The Maides Tragedy, Phylaster, and A King and No King.
Francis Beaumont, who may have been the funniest dramatist of the Elizabethan era, died at the tragically early age of 32. If for nothing else, he should be remembered for his solo creation of The Knight of the Burning Pestle, the satire of Don Quixote that remains the funniest play in the entire Elizabethan canon.
Beaumont and Fletcher were the English dramatists Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher, who collaborated in their writing during the reign of James I (1603–25).
