Pierre-Gaspard Chaumette (Nevers, 24 maggio 1763 – Parigi, 13 aprile 1794) è stato un rivoluzionario e avvocato francese, durante la Rivoluzione francese fu prima presidente della Comune di Parigi e poi uno dei fautori del Regime del Terrore.

Pierre-Gaspard Chaumette, dit Anaxagoras Chaumette, né le 24 mai 1763 à Nevers ( Nièvre) et mort guillotiné le 13 avril 1794 à Paris, fut procureur de la Commune de Paris pendant la Révolution française. Porte-parole des sans-culottes, artisan de la déchristianisation, il lutta aussi pour l' abolition de l'esclavage.

Celebre rivoluzionario francese, nato a Nevers il 24 maggio 1763. Navigò in qualità di mozzo per parecchi anni, e a 19 anni tornò a Nevers. Studiò saltuariamente la fisica, la botanica, l'anatomia e per qualche tempo fu anche chirurgo dei padri della carità di Nevers. Nel settembre del 1790 giunse a Parigi.
