Qi Jiguang (Chinese: 戚繼光; pinyin: Qī Jìguāng; Wade–Giles: Ch'i 1 Chi 4-Kuang 1, November 12, 1528 – January 17, 1588), courtesy name Yuanjing, art names Nantang and Mengzhu, posthumous name Wuyi, was a Chinese military general and writer of the Ming dynasty.

Qi Jiguang was a Ming dynasty military officer who defended the coasts of Zhejiang and Fujian against Japanese pirates and developed innovative tactics and weapons. He also served as a commander of the Capital Army and a senior commissioner-in-chief of the Ming forces.
An edited volume that explores the military history and doctrines of Qi Jiguang, a Chinese general who fought against pirates and foreign invaders in the 16th century. The book also examines the maritime and security environment in East Asia during and beyond Qi Jiguang's time.
