Braintree is served by two railway stations: Braintree and Braintree Freeport. Both stations are served by hourly Greater Anglia trains on the Braintree branch line. Trains link the town directly to Witham, with some services continuing to London Liverpool Street via Chelmsford and StratfordMonday–Saturday.
