It was named Camden County Veterans Cemetery in 2007. Harleigh cemetery is over 130 acres (0.53 km 2) of lush mature grounds situated on the Cooper River a short drive from Philadelphia. [2] The cemetery has been listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places since 1995 (as ID #2829).

Harleigh Cemetery was established in 1885 and is the final resting place to hundreds of veterans, including 300 Civil War veterans. The cemetery is also the resting place of acclaimed poet, Walt Whitman. It’s located on over 150 acres of land that features lakes, hills and thousands of beautiful trees.
