Rumson is a borough in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, and is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 United States census , the borough's population was 7,343, [9] [10] an increase of 221 (+3.1%) from the 2010 census count of 7,122, [19] [20] which in turn reflected a decline of 15 (−0.2%) from 7,137 in 2000 .

Rohallion. Coordinates: 40.362°N 74.006°W. Rohallion Estate (pronounced roh-HAL-ee-on, Scottish Gaelic: Ràth Chailleann, 'The Fort of the Caledonians' [1]) is an estate in Rumson, New Jersey. The estate house was built in 1887 [2] on a lot originally 64 acres (26 ha).
Historic Rumson was settled in 1665, as a result of a land purchase from native Americans. The Lenni-Lenapé,a tribe within the larger tribe of the Delawares, lived on the Peninsula and named it Navarumsunk. Throughout the years that name was shortened and changed to Rumson. Rumson was officially incorporated as a Borough in 1907.
