Brno-Bystrc je městská část na severozápadě statutárního města Brna. Je tvořena městskou čtvrtí Bystrc [pozn. 1] ( německy Bisterz, v hantecu Bástr ), původně samostatnou obcí, která byla k Brnu připojena v roce 1960. Její katastrální území má rozlohu 27,24 km². Samosprávná městská část vznikla 24. listopadu 1990.
By area, the largest district is Brno-Bystrc (27.24 square kilometres (10.52 sq mi)) and the smallest is Brno-Nový Lískovec (1.66 square kilometres (0.64 sq mi)). Brno is the home to the highest courts in the Czech judiciary .
RC Bystrc is a Czech rugby club in Brno. As the name implies, they are based in the Bystrc district of the city. They currently play in the 1. Liga ragby XV, having won the 1. Liga ragby XV in 2008. History. Rugby in the then Czechoslovakia was much affected following the nationwide restructuring of Physical Education and Sport in 1953.

The swell of the reservoir begins under the weir at the Tejkalův Mill in Veverská Bítýška and spans nearly 10 km to the dam on the border of the Brno-Bystrc and Brno-Kníničky districts. The flooded area covers 259 ha. The inactive storage reaches up to 7.6 million m³; the reserve space is 10.8 million m³.
