Biografia. Primi anni. È figlia di Godfrey Rampling, ex-atleta (vincitore di medaglie alle Olimpiadi del 1932 e del 1936 ), ufficiale dell'esercito, [1] e di Anne Gurteen, pittrice. Trascorre l'infanzia tra la Francia e l' Inghilterra e completa a Londra le scuole superiori.
