Chris Farlowe (born John Henry Deighton, 13 October 1940) [1] is an English rock, blues and soul singer. He is best known for his hit single "Out of Time" written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, which rose to No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1966, [2] and his association with bands Atomic Rooster, the Thunderbirds and Colosseum.
The Art of Chris Farlowe is the third 1966 album by British singer Chris Farlowe, featuring his band the Thunderbirds, but only credited to him. Andrew Loog Oldham produced the recording sessions with Mick Jagger. The album includes four songs composed by Jagger along with Keith Richards.
Chris Farlowe (born Islington, London, England, 13.Oct.1940) is one of the great underrated British soul & blues influenced singers. Farlowe's musical career has one starting point in the John Henry Skiffle Group and other similar bands.
British vocalist Chris Farlowe had been active as a musician since 1957, and had been a member of a band named the Thunderbirds, where he was the frontman. However, he started going solo in 1962, releasing several singles on both Decca and Columbia Records between that year and 1964.
In November 1967, singer Chris Farlowe was the first to release a version of the song, produced by Mike d'Abo. It became a #33 hit in the United Kingdom for Immediate Records . This arrangement of the song included Dave Greenslade 's piano blues-scale riff.
